    Absolutely! All Salmon Plumbing trades workmanship is guaranteed for 7 years.
  • Will you be on time?

    Yes. ‘On time or it’s Free’ guarantees arrival on time unless prior arrangements have been made.

    If we’re late, we’ll waive the call-out fee.

  • Can you call me a half an hour prior to your arrival?

    If you need to be present on-site, or would prefer a reminder call for confirmation, Salmon Plumbing can call you half an hour prior to our arrival.
  • How much experience do your people have?

    At Salmon Plumbing we have been in business for over 25 years and have a combination of over 120 years’ experience in the Plumbing Industry. Even our office staff all have experience in the plumbing industry so when booking your job you are talking to someone who can help you get the best outcome right from the outset.
  • Are you licensed?

    All our plumbers are licensed tradespeople and we only send the appropriately qualified service people to your job. Our trade service staff also hold endorsements in Gasfitting, restricted electrical, Backflow prevention, servicing, installation and certification of temperature control devices and regularly attend manufacturer and industry training. Salmon Plumbing is licensed with The QBCC. The proprietor John Salmon has been a licensed plumber and gasfitter for over 28 years.
  • Are you insured?

    Salmon Plumbing holds Public Liability insurance and Business Insurance to the value of $20,000,000. This protects you and your property against any accidental damage.
  • How long will the job take?

    Every job is based on its merits, with time evaluation and an explanation of the schedule, prior to commencement.

    If the time is not suitable, we will reschedule a time at your convenience. At all times best estimates are given and it is in the interest of us and our customers that work is completed in the estimated time frame however we are often dealing with unseen plumbing systems and problems so some adjustment of schedule times is required.

  • Do you have a call-out fee?

    Yes, a call-out fee is only charged once, no matter how many times we need to return to your job.

    A call-out fee covers the expenses associated with getting a professional qualified plumber to your door, administration of your job and peace of mind with after sales service.

  • Can we book jobs well in advance?

    Naturally. If you have time issues, are not in an emergency situation or involved in a more complex construction project, Salmon Plumbing can book forward schedules so your job runs smoothly.
  • Can we have the same technician on the job?

    If you choose, we will provide the same tradesperson to service your job, so they can get to know your specific requirements and your unique job history.
  • Can you provide an account facility?

    Salmon Plumbing can provide 7, 14 and 30-day accounts to approved business clients.
  • Can you pay by credit card?

    Yes we accept cash, cheque or credit card at the completion of the job and we do not charge any transaction fees. (We do not accept Amex or Bartercard)

    Our technicians carry Eftpos terminals for peace of mind that your personal details will be safe.

  • How do you clear blocked drains?

    Salmon Plumbing use state of the art drain cleaning equipment to clear your blocked drains utilising high pressure water jetters and sewer drain cameras. You will have the peace of mind that the job has been done right the first time and we can even record a copy of your drains and give it to you on a DVD.
  • My pipes are making a banging sound, can you fix it?

    Yes, Salmon Plumbing can fix this problem known as water hammer. Water hammer is caused by a range of different reasons, so you really need to know what to look for before trying a quick fix method that doesn’t get proper results.   • I have an excess water notice from Council - what should I do?

    An excess water leak notice from council can be caused by a number of different reasons. Some of the most common reasons are: underground water leak/burst pipe or fitting, running tap, leaking toilet, faulty valves on a hot water system to name but a few. Our tradesman are adept at diagnosing what the cause of your excess water bill might be & then getting it repaired in the most efficient manner saving you time & money. In some cases, excess water charges may be refunded by council if a licensed plumber has undertaken the repair.
  • My roof and gutters are leaking during the recent storms - can you help?

    Roof leaks can be caused by many different issues but it is very important to get them seen to ASAP. Roof leaks cause serious and long term structural damage to your property. We can access your roof and provide a full inspection including a CCTV camera report on the downpipes and storm-water drains. We can then provide a report on its condition and make suitable recommendations to keep you dry. Our drain clearing machines will cut through most major drain blockages quickly and efficiently to get that storm-water flowing fast.
  • Can you help with blocked storm water drains?

    Yes we have high pressure water cleaners that we use in conjunction with traditional cable drain clearing equipment. Often the reason storm water systems fail is because they are not only blocked but undersized. We can also give advice on resizing and redesign of storm water systems so you can avoid often costly and inconvenient water damage to your property.
  • All my taps are old and dripping - do you do small jobs?

    Yes our experienced plumbers will service all your taps and reseat and replace washers and O rings as required to extend the life of your taps. We also supply and install a wide variety of taps – from mixers, pillar taps and auto taps such as Zip chillers and boiling water units. We also install and supply numerous types of toilet cisterns- from china cisterns and porcelain cisterns to plastic cisterns. We offer a full repair service to all types of toilets and cisterns including new toilet seats. We also carry out works to showerheads and bath spouts, laundry tubs, sinks and vanities plus baths (freestanding or built-in), external taps for hoses, new pipework and plumbing installations of every kind.
  • Every time I use my shower, water leaks through the adjacent walls - can you fix this?

    Yes this is no problem – it could be one of three causes. Firstly our plumber will pressure test your pipework and check for leaks on your pipes. The plumber will also test the waste to see if there are any concealed pipes leaking – if these are found we can then access the pipes/waste and carry out repairs to every type of pipe or waste. If the pipes are found not to be leaking then it is most likely to be a waterproofing or tiling issue. We can refer you to a specialist builder or waterproofer who we trust and work with regularly to ensure your issue is fixed professionally.

Hot Water

  • I have no hot water?

    We can have a technician out to you ASAP. Whether you have electric hot water, heat pump hot water, solar hot water or gas hot water, we will identify the problem and rectify it as quickly as possible. We service all types of hot water units and hot water tanks for all the leading manufacturers. Our plumbers have undertaken additional training & hold Restricted Electrical Licences enabling them to identify & fault find problems with your electric hot water systems & replace elements & thermostats.
  • Do you service and install Commercial Hot water Units?

    We install and service gas, electric, heat pump and solar commercial hot water systems.
  • Can you help me choose the best hot water unit for me including running costs?

    The cost of a hot water system is the running cost as well as the installation cost. The running cost of a hot water system can be ten times the cost of installation over its useful life. Running cost are influenced by the fuel, the tariff, the number of people in the house, the life of the system (which is affected by the quality of the installation) and many other variables.   • If I have PV Solar panels will it affect which hot water unit is best for our house?

    Absolutely. Having PV Panels and your feed in tariff is another issue to be considered. Salmon Plumbing can factor this into your calculations and help you end up with the best hot water unit for you.
  • I can smell gas - what should I do?

    Firstly, call Salmon Plumbing straight away so that we can get a gas technician out to you ASAP.

    Secondly, turn off the gas supply at your gas meter or cylinder/s. If you are having trouble locating where to shut off your gas supply call our office & one of our helpful staff will be able to direct you how to do it.

    Turn off all appliances (including electrical) and pilot lights, open all doors and windows for ventilation – only if safe to do so and extinguish all naked flames. Our Licensed Gas service technician will be on site as soon as possible and in most cases within the hour. He will carry out a full gas safety inspection and provide a gas certificate on completion of works.
